Stillwater’s History
The Beartooth Mountains on the border of Montana and Wyoming were the longtime home to the Kiowa, Blackfeet, Cayuse, Coeur d’Alene, Shoshone, Nez Perce, and other tribes. These groups explored and utilized the area for its abundant resources during some point in their recent history.
Descending from the Beartooth Mountains, the Stillwater River inspires all who see it. We founded Stillwater Energy to inspire action, and to drive positive and meaningful energy management impacts.
Stillwater’s lineage started with Global Energy Partners (Global), established in 1998 as a joint venture between the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), the Gas Research Institute (GRI), and AECOM. In 2011 EnerNOC acquired Global. In 2016, we acquired ourselves to form Stillwater Energy LLC., to create a world-class consulting team with a singular focus: to expand and maximize the potential of Strategic Energy Management (SEM).
Since our founding, we’ve:
Supported some of the largest commercial and industrial energy users in the US and Canada to deploy SEM.
Supported some of the most forward-thinking utility, agency, and NGO program administrators in North America to deliver cost-effective energy savings.
Presented on our SEM research in topics including executive engagement, marketing of SEM, employee engagement, ISO 50001, SEM and Corporate Social Responsibility, Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI).
Supported collaboration within the international ISO energy management community, the North American SEM Collaborative, Northwest SEM Collaborative, and numerous forums convened by ACEEE, CEE, and others.
Supported end-use customers to win energy-related awards.
Continually improved our processes and delivery approach.
